As Managing Director, Lorraine Brennan is responsible for the strategy, growth, and development of JAMS International.
A litigation lawyer by training, Lorraine first practised law at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York, then Choate, Hall & Stewart in Boston, and became a partner in 2006 at Kilpatrick Stockton in New York, where she was also the Director of the International Dispute Resolution Group. She is currently the President of Arbitral Women, a group dedicated to promoting and advancing women in the field of international dispute resolution.
Prior to joining JAMS International, Lorraine was Senior Vice President, Programs and International, of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) in New York. She was previously Director of Arbitration and ADR, North America, ICC International Court of Arbitration, where she acted as the American advisor to the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris.
From 1997-1999, Ms. Brennan served as the Director of Arbitration and Intellectual Property and Legal Counsel at the United States Counsel for International Business (USCIB). She remains one of eight U.S. Members of the NAFTA 2022 Committee on Private Commercial Disputes.
She is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown Law School and a former Adjunct Professor at Cornell University Law School, and a Visiting Professor at Shantou University Law School in Guangdong, China.
She is an accredited mediator and frequent speaker on international dispute resolution at conferences and seminars throughout the world.

Matthew Rushton began a career as a legal journalist in 1997 writing for The Legal 500 in the UK, continental Europe, and Asia Pacific regions. He subsequently wrote for a wide range of legal periodicals in the UK and US, including Legal Business magazine where he was a senior reporter and litigation editor (2000-2003). As a business journalist he is widely published in magazines and newspapers, including nationals like The Daily Telegraph. He is also the author of Writ Large, a 400-page biography of US attorney David I. Shapiro published in 2006. Other books to which Matthew has contributed include a chapter about the English Court in Journalism That Matters, a text book published in New York, about how journalists shape the industries they cover.
In 2007 Matthew founded Empirical Publishing, an online legal publisher focused on ADR. Matthew was the publisher of The Mediator Magazine and later The Mediator Directory, the latter becoming the UK’s first national feedback repository for users of commercial mediation. In 2009, Matthew launched an ADR brokerage site, DisputesLoop.com, designed to bring together ADR users and practitioners. In tandem with the above, Matthew worked as a consultant advising in relation to a number of ADR-related ventures.
He is a regular speaker on ADR topics at conferences, and joined JAMS International in May 2011.

Steve Clarke joined JAMS International with 20 years’ experience as a Barristers’ Clerk at leading criminal set, 2 Bedford Row. Steve was responsible for the day-to-day support, management, and marketing of some of the UK’s leading criminal barristers. Trials for which Steve was responsible included some of the most high-profile and longest running cases heard in the UK. The highlight of Steve’s career at 2 Bedford Row was being asked to stand in as clerk to Lord Morris, Attorney General of England & Wales and Northern Ireland (1997-1999) as and when required.
